Wynonna Earp is a supernatural western series based on the comic by Beau Smith. It is a joint U.S.-Canadian production developed by Lost Girl’s Emily Andras.
Wyatt Earp was an early twentieth century sheriff with a penchant for gambling and gun slinging. He is a legend that Hollywood brought to fame when Kevin Costner portrayed him in the 1994 film, Wyatt Earp.
In Wynonna Earp, the descendants of Wyatt must fight the revenants, ghosts of the seventy-seven criminals killed by her great, great grandfather. With the help of an immortal Doc Holliday, her younger sister Waverly, and the complicated Agent Dolls of the U.S. Marshal’s Black Badge Division, Wynonna must kill the revenants one by one using Wyatt’s gun, peacemaker. As Wyatt´s heir, she must kill all the revenants to the break the curse, or they return again in full force for a new heir to fight.
While Wynonna Earp is a bit budget, it is the kind of cheesy show that you love to love. Expect fun villains, ladies who avenge, the occult, a campy lesbian storyline starring Waverly and a cop named officer Haight, and a love triangle between the main character and the two men who do anything to protect her.
